Kabafita Community Association Women’s team came from a 2 nil down to share points with Penyem women in the Kombo Central Inter-community Women Football tournament encounter at the weekend.
The match ended 2 goals apiece in the regulation period at the Cannan Multi-Purpose Centre playground in Brikama.
Jarra Jammeh opened the scoring for Penyem in the 10th minute after slashing through Kabafita defence line, before completing a brace in the 15th minute thanks to a remarkable free-kick.
But goals from Adama Jarra and Penda Bah, alias Peter Crouch, put their side back into the game in the 43rd and 54th minutes of the game.
Kabafita is still leading the table with 7 points in three matches while Penyem are 3rd place on the table with 5 points in four games.
Elsewhere at the Marakissa playground, Marakissa beat Manduwar 2-1 in the opening game of the Kombo Central District male football tournament on Saturday.
Sunday’s game, on the other hand, saw Kitty draw 0-0 with Kassa Kunda at the kitty’s Wembley football field.
Another game in the competition saw Bakary Sambouyaa edged out Penyem with a 2-1scoreline at the Marakissa playground on the same Sunday.
