Judgment entered in favour of plaintiff

The Industrial Tribunal at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court recently gave judgment in favour of the plaintiff, Musa Sowe, against Gacem Ltd.

The plaintiff was claiming for wrongful termination and breach of contract, interest and costs against Gacem Ltd, his former employer, before the tribunal.

Magistrate Ngube, chairman of the Industrial tribunal, cited the testimonies of the plaintiff and the defendant, and announced, "We find the defendant in breach of contract for failure to respect a procedural requirement of natural justice."

He consequently entered judgment in favour of the plaintiff in the sum of D2,499.80 being salary for one month in lieu of notice and awarded costs of D5,000 to the plaintiff.
