The one-day training, organised by the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia (SJAG) and the Gambia Cricket Association (GCA), brought together sportswriters from both the electronic and print media.
The training was part of efforts by the SJAG to equip its members with reporting languages of the various sporting disciplines.
The president of the GCA, Johnny Gomez, said the training was organised to equip participants with skills in cricket reporting, adding that his association will stage this kind of training in the country next year to be funded by the International Cricket Council, to equip sports journalists with more skills in cricket reporting.
During the training, participants were urged to be determined and willing to research in order to realize their dreams and aspirations, as well as to make best use of the knowledge gained from the training.
Mama Faal of City Limits Radio sports desk gave the vote of thanks and extolled the GCA and the SJAG for organising the training.
The training would greatly improve the cricket reporting skills of sports journalists in the country, she added.
