Jannehkoto FC thrashed Happy Gunjur FC 2-0 in the 2009 Gunjur Nawettan league championship on Tuesday 4th August 2009, at the Gunjur Football Pitch, in the evening kick-off.
Both sides put up respectable performance in the first half of the game and miss numerous goal scoring opportunities. However, they failed to break the deadlock and the first ended 0-0.
In the second half, Jannehkoto FC who lose their first match 3-0 in the hands of Nyokoyor FC in their opening game last week came all out and mounted heavy pressured on young talented formidable, Happy Gunjur FC side.
Omar Jassey opened the score sheet in the 64th minute from spectacular header, Konna Touray, who sealed the victory from a goal mouth scramble to make 2-0 for Jannehkoto FC.
Happy Gunjur FC though fought back but unable to level the scores and the game ended 2-0 in favour of Jannehkoto.
Jannehkoto FC now bagged 3 points from two games, while Happy Gunjur FC are yet to collect a point since the start of the championship a week ago.
On the same day, NAS FC drew 0-0 with Nyokoyor FC in the early kick-off, on Wednesday 5th August 2009, Qcell FC drew 0-0 with New Town United FC in the early kick-off, while Oxford United FC also drew 0-0 with Pentagon FC in the evening kick-off.
