The Banjul Sports Committee has suspended and fined Jamesen FC and Macdonald United for the rude behaviour of their supporters, players and officials during their game on 19 August 2016.

Mustapha Manneh, an official of Jemesen FC, has been slapped with a suspension for the rest of the nawetan. Manneh is also fined D500.

The committee added that he should not be involved in any activities of team during their matches, noting that as an officer on the bench, he should have led by example rather than attacking opponent players.

Maget Jammeh, reserve goalkeeper of Macdonald United, has also been hit with the same punishment for continuously insulting the referees and following them to their dressing room after, their match against Jamesen FC on Friday 19 August 2016.

Teammate Alieu Saine has also been suspended for the rest of the nawetan for attacking and hitting an opponent player.

Both Jamesen FC and Macdonald United are fined D1,000 for failing to control their players, supporters and officers and for bringing the game into disrepute.

The fine, according to the committee, is to be paid before the teams’ next matches; failure to pay will result in the team not being allowed to play.

Finally, both teams are warned of such gross indiscipline which, if repeated, will see them being heavily punished.

Adoulie Ndow, team manager, and Malick Sarr, assistant coach of Ajax, are both suspended for 2 matches for being sent off the bench on Sunday 21 August during their match against Juventus.

They should not enter the dressing room, stand behind the bench, field the match form or enter the football field during and after the match.

Article 17.1.3 states that, any team that wins the knock-out and happens to be relegated the team shall be reinstated in the Nawetan proper.
