Interior are two points clear on the top of the GFA second division league following their hard fought 1-0 win over Young Africans in their week ten re-scheduled game at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda last Thursday.
Interior, who are really playing all out for a promotion to the top flight football next season mounted heavy pressure on the Young Africans defence but were unable to break the deadlock in the first half.
In resumption of the second half, Young Africans who are third from bottom and are fighting for survival in the second division, reacted positively with more counters on Interior but failed to score.
Interior opened the score through striker Modou Lamin Touray in the 75th minute of the game from a brilliant strike. Young Africans though they had fought back and created a lot of chances, they failed however to score and the game ended 1-0 in favour of Interior.
In the week ten's re-scheduled games Lamin FC defeated Nema United 2-1 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium while Serrekunda East drew 0-0 with Young Africans at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Saturday.
Interior now bagged 34 points from seventeen games, GPA 2nd position on the standing with 32 points from seventeen games, Serrekunda East 3rd position on the table with 32 points from seventeen games, Ham Ham are 3rd position on table with 25 points from seventeen games, Lamin FC are now 5th position on the table with 23 points from seventeen games, Nema United are now 6th position on the table with 23 points from seventeen games. Serrekunda United are 7th position on the standing with 17 points from seventeen games. Young Africans are 8th position on the table with 16 points from seventeen games. Kaira Silo are still second from bottom with 13 points from seventeen games and Jambanjelly at the bottom of the table with 9 points from seventeen games.
