Interior and Jeshwang have won their respective games in the finals of the Gambia Volleyball Association to end the season’s contest.
Interior clinched the female title after beating counterparts Gambia Armed Forces 3-0. They won all their three sets to earn the title at the Gambia Senior Secondary School grounds on Saturday.
Jeshwang beat double finalists Gambia Armed Forces Men team 4-1 in the late kickoff.
The male competition led both teams to the fourth set of the game, while Jeshwang led Gambia Armed Forces in the first set, but levelled by the opponents in the second set.
Later, Jeshwang conveyed the lead through the third and the fourth sets to carry the trophy at the end of the game.
At the end of the final competition, the President of the Gambia National Olympic Committee, Alhagie Momodou Dibba, gave out D30,000 to be shared among the winners as well the runners-up.
The two winners each received D10,000 while each of the two runners-up got D5,000.
The Gambia National Volleyball Association did play also its 2011/12 volleyball final.
