An indecent assault case involving a 55-year-old man, Ousman Jobe, was recently set for judgment by Magistrate Ibrahim Kijera of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, after both the prosecution and the defence closed their cases.

The particulars of offence stated that on 26 February 2013, at Nema Kunku Village, in the West Coast Region, the accused, Ousman Jobe, was alleged to have indecently assaulted an underage girl of 7 years, by putting his finger in the private part of the victim, thereby committed an offence.

When the charge sheet was read over to the accused person in the language he claimed to have understood, he denied the allegations.

As a result, the prosecution called several witnesses and tendered exhibits in support of their case and the accused also gave his defence, and maintained his innocence.

The case was then adjourned till 10 February 2014, for judgment.
