Indecent assault case heard

The complainant, a resident of Brusubi, recently testified in an indecent assault case involving one Kawsu Manneh before the Brikama Magistrates' Court, presided by Magistrate Emmanuel Amadi.

Testifying before the court, the complainant told the court that she knew the accused person.

According to her, on 10^th November 2009, her mother sent her to a shop owned by one Sulayman to collect her younger brother from the said shop.

According to her, upon arrival at the shop, she saw the accused holding her younger brother's hand to his house.

She testified that she then followed the accused to collect his younger brother at his house, where the accused forced her to have sex with him. She said the matter was reported to the police.

Also testifying, PW2, Marie Ndow, said on the fateful day, the accused came to the shop and held the hand of her son, and when  he was asked to leave him, he said "your son is mine, let me take him to my house."

According to her, after a while she asked her daughter to go and collect her son, stating that when her daughter went she had stayed for so long. And as a result, she decided to follow her there and found her putting on her underwear.

She adduced that when she asked her daughter what had happened, she replied the accused had forced her to have sex with him.

The daughter's father also gave a similar testimony.
