Husband allegedly murders wife in LRR

Police in the Lower River Region have mounted an investigation into the alleged murder of a 45 year old woman on Monday by her husband in the village of Kantong Kunda in the LRR.

Sainabou Ceesay, according to our sources, was murdered by her husband, one Lebally Ceesay, aged 70 by hitting her with an iron on the back of her neck and as a result died on the spot.

Sources told this paper that the incident happened after the two wives of Lebally Ceesay quarreled, which led to the intervention of the husband, who in the process, was said to have hit Sainabou, the first wife on her neck.

Sources further also told this paper that the husband is currently with the police in Mansakonko Police Station helping them in their investigations, while the remains of the late Sainabou Ceesay has been transferred to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
