Magistrate Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court Wednesday convicted and sentenced one Ebrima Danjo on count one to a fine of D10,000 in default to serve six months in prison.
Ebrima Danjo, said to be an employee of the Ocean Bay Hotel, was also convicted and sentenced on count two to a fine of D5,000, in default to serve three months in prison.
Danjo admitted to both counts of stealing when it was read to him.
Count one read that in 2012, at the Ocean Bay Hotel, Bakau, in the Kanifing Municipality, being an employee of the said hotel as a security and virtue of his employment, he stole five metal chairs valued at D750, the property of the said hotel.
The charge sheet on count two stated that on 28 January 2013, at the Ocean Bay Hotel, Bakau, in the Kanifing Municipality, he stole from room number 104, a mobile phone valued at D7,920, being the property of one Mr G. Hughes.
