Demba Savage and Finnish side FC Honka have powered pass Finnish giants HJK Helsinki as the Finnish league cup favourites won their league cup opener 2-0 on Saturday.
Honka hit the opening goal nine minutes after the game. The Demba Savage side further triumphed in the 86th minute when Duarte struck a second goal for Honka to wrap up a 2-0 win for the visitors, according to fchonka.com.
The club is on its way to clinching its third league cup trophy after seeing off equal contenders Helsinki.
Honka’s next game will be played against MYPA on Friday February 10 before taking on Lahti on Tuesday February 14.
Their return leg against HJK will be played on February 17 at home.
