Kartong and Tujereng are set to clash in the district’s annual biggest football gala semifinal last weekend but the district sport has decided to defer the semifinal ties until further notice.
Kartong and Tujereng eliminated Banyaka and Mamuda in the quarterfinal a fortnight ago, to advance to the semifinal against each other.
Kartong sailed to the semifinal in the Kombo South district biggest football gala following their resounding 2-0 aggregate win over Banyaka in the quarterfinal.
Tujereng booked their ticket to the Kombo South district biggest football festivity after their stunning 3-0 aggregate victory over Mamuda in the quarterfinal.
Kartong and Tujereng have never won the Kombo South district biggest football carnival title before.
Kartong lost to Farato on penalties in the 2008 Kombo South district football tournament final, after the regulation time failed to produce a winner at the Gunjur Upper Basic School football field.

Tujereng, on the other hand, will also be challenging for a victory against Kartong in the semifinal to sail to the final in the Kombo South district football tournament as well as keeping their dreams of clinching their first-ever Kombo South district biggest football fray title.
