Gunjur Nawettan League semis set for weekend

The 2014-2015 Solid Real Estate Agency-sponsored Gunjur Nawettan league semi final matches are set for this weekend at the Gunjur Nyamina football field at 4.30 pm.

As part of the semi final clashes, Late Dembo FC will host Solifo Investment FC in the semi final on Saturday 25 October 2014.

The Santos-based outfit sailed to the semi finals following their resounding 2-0 win over the reigning league and super cup champions Steve Biko FC in the quarter finals with goals from Ousainou Janneh and Muhammed Janneh.

Late Dembo FC will be coming all-out for a win against Solifo Investment FC to advance to the finals, as well as keeping their hopes of clinching the trophy alive after several years of a trophy drought.

Solifo Investment FC booked their ticket to the semi finals after their slender 3-2 win over Sunderland FC in the quarter finals, with goals from Ousman Sawaneh aka Rubin Van Persie and a braced from Fabakary Touray aka Maxi.

The Sanchaba outfit will be aiming for victory against the Santos-based outfit to progress to the finals, as well as fancying their chances of landing silver ware.

Elsewhere, on Sunday 26 October 2014, World Eleven FC will clash with Gamcel FC in the second semi finals.

World Eleven FC sealed a place in the semi-finals following their 6-5 penalty shoot-out win over pen pushers Standard FC, after regulation time ended 1 all.

The Santos-based outfit opened the scores through Gunjur influential winger Ousman Bojang aka Mesut Ozil in the 76th minute of the game from an extra-ordinary strike.

The pen pushers responded and leveled the scores through Captain Amadou Jatta alias Angel Di Maria in the 79th minute of the game from the penalty spot, after Brikama United prolific striker Saikou Manneh Safety was brought down inside World Eleven FC’s eighteen yard’s box by right back Lamin Sanyang.

The Santos-based outfit will be fighting tooth and nail for a win against the cellular giants to sail to the finals, as well as keeping their dreams of winning the trophy alive after failing to retain their 2012-2013 Gunjur league crown.

The cellular giants advanced to the semi-finals following their penalty shoot-out win over Digital device boys, after a goalless draw in regulation time in the quarter finals, and will be vying for victory to sail to the finals and keep their hopes of clinching the trophy after failing to land silver ware last season.
