Gunjur league final re-scheduled

The 2012 Gunjur League Final game between Oxford United against World Eleven has been re-scheduled by Gunjur Youths and Sports Development Association (GYSDA) after the normal time of play failed to produce a winner at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field on Saturday.

Both sides posed threats at each other’s goal mouth but failed to find the back of the net.

Oxford United came close to scoring in the 30th minute when winger Alhagie Sarr sent a powerful shot that was denied by the wood work.

Alhagie Janneh, alias Fletcher, could have put World Eleven in front from a penalty spot after Oxford United defender Bakary Saine handled the ball inside the eighteen-yard box in the 70th minute of the game but his shot was also denied by the wood work and thus the game ended goalless.

GYSDA has decided to suspend the final until further notice.
