The Deputy Imam of Gunjur, Oustass Demba Kurusu Touray, has urged Muslims to render a helping hand to orphans, the needy and unfortunate people in the society as well as to support each other.
Imam Touray made these remarks during his Koriteh summon last Tuesday at the Gunjur pray ground witnessed by thousands of worshippers from Gunjur and its environs.
According to Imam Touray, helping orphans, the needy and the unfortunate in society is a matter of must for wealthy people, who are expected to also spend their wealth on assisting the less fortunate before spending it on things that are less important.
He advised Muslims to love and assist each other, avoid doing bad things and continually pray for peace, unity and stability to prevail in The Gambia and the world at large.
