Foday Sillah has been crowned champions of the 2014 Gunjur Upper and Senior Secondary School inter-house athletics competition after snatching 541 points in a tightly contested race held at the school’s grounds in Gunjur on Saturday.
Four houses, namely Kwame, Samory, Foday Sillah and Cabral, vied for the championship title, which displayed excellent skills and attracted thousands of spectators from Gunjur and its surroundings for the school’s annual biggest sporting gala.
The championship was meant to scout good athletes that will represent the school in the 2014 West Coast Region inter-schools heats to hold in Brikama as well as the national inter-school championship to be hosted in Farafenni in the North Bank Region later this year.
Foday Sillah was seconded by Samory in 2nd position with 439 points, 2012 and 2013 champions Kwame came 3rd position with 392 points, whilst Cabral finished 4th position with 386 points.
