GGA AGM set for Dec 26

Nomination forms for the Executive Committee are available and the closing date for nominations is 19 December 2014.

Interested persons are invited to make nomination for the following positions, Secretary General to replace Modou Drammeh; Committee member to replace Tijan Kuyateh; Committee member to replace Pa Famara Jatta; Committee member to replace Binta Ceesay and Committee member to fill vacant position.

“If you would like to propose a nomination, you must supply your name and details and then get someone else to second your proposal,” the GGA statement said.

The closing date for motions for the GGA Executive Committee is 19 December 2014.

Amendments to the constitution of the GGA are to take effect on 1 January 2015. Rule 8: Delete and replace with following:

The first Committee of the Association consists of the four ordinary members: Tijan Kuyateh, Alhagi Drammeh, Par Famara J J Jatta and Jamil Tabbal. In addition, the President of the Secretary General and the Treasurer shall be ex-officio members of the Committee. A new Committee shall be elected at every fifth annual general meeting of the GGA, i.e. every 5 years, but retiring members of the Committee shall be eligible for re-election.

Elected presidents of the GGA can only be elected for a maximum of 2 consecutive terms, not exceeding 10 years.
