IGP Sonko redeployed, Ben Wilson takes over

According to reliable sources, Ben Wilson, Commissioner of Western Division, was yesterday appointed new Inspector General of Police (IGP) to replace Yankuba Sonko, who was in the post since March 2010.

Mr Sonko has been redeployed to the Ministry of Justice.

Furthermore, Ousman Gibba, deputy IGP, had his services terminated. No official reason was made known to this paper for the changes at police headquarters in Banjul.
