of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Lamin Kaba Bajo has renewed his
federation’s partnership with the Federation Royale Marocaine De Football
following the signing of another new agreement between the GFF and the FRMF
held in Rabat recently.
The
two years partnership agreement between the two Federations is effective March
12th, 2020 with the objective of promoting cooperation between the two
federations.
This
amongst other items in the agreement is in order to develop exchanges and build
greater synergy that will contribute to the development of football.
Key
amongst the agreement is to establish a bilateral cooperation between the two
federations for the development of the game in their respective countries.
The two football association presidents
further agreed to work on the development of football through the training of
technicians and administrators as well as referees, through exchanging
programs.
The
agreement also encompasses the development of sports events programs, and
training workshops, mutual support between their sports training centers,
organisation of friendly matches and promoting the development of youth
football.
As
part of the agreement in organizing international football matches, the two
football federations shall work together and facilitate the organization of
friendly matches of National Senior, local and Olympic teams (U23), youth
categories U15, U17, U20 as well as women national teams.
President
Bajo and his counterpart Faouzi Lekjaa
both expressed optimism and assured commitment to boost their respective
nations’ sports agendas.
The
two FA presidents, pursuant to the ideals and principles of solidarity preached
by FIFA and CAF in the development of football worldwide, seized the
opportunity to build relationships of trust and cooperation between the
federations to promote mutual harmonious development.
This
recent partnership is the third giant stride in two months added to a similar
agreement that Bajo endorsed with the Spanish Football Federation on 11th March
2020 while in Madrid at the invitation of the Spanish Football Association
President Luis Rubiales.
The
Madrid meeting follows Bajo’s earlier visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in
January 2020 where he signed cooperation with the Saudi Football Association
which amongst others include the hosting of Gambia national team on training
camps, providing support in technical areas like Refereeing, Coaching and
infrastructure.
