GFA 2nd tier reaches climax today

The final game of the 2009-10 Gambia Football Association (GFA) Division Two League will be played today, Wednesday 9th June 2010.

The final fixtures will showcase last year's FA cup champions Young Africans at 26 points and 3rd locking horns with 5th place and 23 points Western Region boys Nema United, at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.

Young Africans are 3rd a single point behind second place Banjul United. They will be going in for a win to gain promotion to the First Division, which is tightly contested by 2nd place Banjul United in a clash set for Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.

Young Africans will be counting Africell who already gained promotion to the premier tier with 32 points to beat Banjul.

Two relegation threatened sides, Flamemins and Serrekunda United will face each other at the Seaview playing grounds in Bakau. Both avoided defeat to keep hopes of staying in the Second Division next season.

Latrikunda United will meet Serrekunda East at the Box Bar Mini-stadium in Brikama.

Serrekunda East are 7th position in the league standing with 21 points opponents, while Latrikunda are 8th position in the league standing.

Tallinding United at 6th position will battle it out with 4th placed Lamin FC, who are three points behind 2nd place Banjul United, at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.
