Genakey beat Marakissa in friendly

Genakey village from the Senegalese province of Cassamance last Saturday defeated their host Marakissa Village 3-2 in an international friendly played at the Marakissa playground.

The international friendly was meant to foster unity and understanding among the youths of the two villages.

The match was witnessed by the Alkalo of Marakissa Village, Jung Colley, the Minister of Interior, Ousman Sonko, National Assembly member for Kombo Central, and other dignitaries.

Speaking at the friendly international before kick-off, the Minister of Interior, Ousman Sonko, called for cooperation among youths of both villages to realise their dreams and aspirations.

He says the relationship between The Gambia and Senegal will go from strength to strength for the benefit of both countries in years to come.
