Telecommunications giants Gamtel will entertain debutant Serrekunda United in their re-scheduled Week 16 fixtures in the ongoing Gambia Football Association’s division one league today, 16 May 2012, at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.
Gamtel are sitting on the mid-table with 19 points in sixteen games seven points behind the current league leaders Gambia Ports Authority, who have bagged 26 points in seventeen games and are hoping for a victory to close the gap, as well as keeping their hopes of clinching their first-ever league title.
Serrekunda United are currently struggling at the bottom of the league table with 15 points in sixteen games and are prepared to make all efforts to snatch a win against Gamtel to move away from relegation zone and survive in the topflight league of next season.
Elsewhere, reigning league champions Brikama United will host Hawks in another tricky fixture to be played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on the same day.
Brikama United have collected 19 points in sixteen games and are bent on a win to keep their title hopes alive, as well as defend their 2011 league crown, while Hawks have snatched 22 points in sixteen games.
