A three-man delegation led by the interim chairman of The Gambia Football Association’s Normalization Committee, Alhagie Ousman B. Conateh, together with Oreme Joiner, chairman of the finance committee, and veteran renowned footballer Alhagie Modou Njie Birri Biri, this morning left Banjul for Ziguinchor, Senegal, to attend the funeral of the late Jules François Bocande, a former Senegalese football icon.
The former footballer and coach, who played for France for many years and served as captain of the Senegalese national team, passed away on Monday 7 May 2012 and is due to be buried today Wednesday 16 May 2012 in his native town of Ziguinchor, Senegal.
