Telecommunications giants Gamtel on Saturday beat newly-promoted side Bombada 2-0 in the week five fixtures of the GFF first division league, played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium to rejuvenate their lead on the table of the 2014-2015 season.

The victory has earned Gamtel top spot in the country’s premier tier with 10 points in four games, and will be hoping to maintain their winning run to boost their chances of clinching their first-ever division one league title.

Brikama United beat Bakau United 2-1 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to mount pressure on leaders Gamtel.

Elsewhere, the reigning league and Super Cup champions Real de Banjul defeated Hawks by the same score line at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on the same day, to fancy their hopes of retaining their 2013-2014 GFF division one league crown.

Brikama United and Real de Banjul are with 8 points each in four games, Hawks, Bakau United and Bombada are with 4 points each in four games.

They are hoping to bounce back in their next fixtures to keep their title ambitions alive, and also avoid relegation to the second tier.
