Gamtel
on Sunday thumped Tallinding United 2-0 in the week-eleven fixtures played at
the Serreknda East Mini Stadium to move one place above relegation zone in the
2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league.
The
telecommunication giants were occupying bottom-place in the top flight with
only 5 points in eight league matches prior their Sunday’s crucial fixtures
knowing that a defeat against Tallinding United will dash their hopes of
remaining in the top flight next season, after their slumping start to the
league campaign.
Gamtel
opened the scores through Bunja Badjie in the 3rd minute of the game before
Sanna Sonko sealed victory in the 20th minute to bag their second win and move
one place above safety in the country’s top flight.
Real
De Banjul dropped to second spot after their goalless draw with current league
champions Gambia Ports Authority at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.
Elsewhere,
Brikama United beat Serrekunda United 1-0 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau
to bounce back after losing to Marimoo and Tallinding United in their previous
league fixtures to maintain their league aspirations alive.
