The trial involving Landing Bojang and 18 others, accused of conspiracy and stealing, continued recently at the Brikama magistrates’ court before magistrate Nyima Samateh.
Testifying under cross-examination, the prosecution witness, Demba Saidykhan, told the court that he could not remember who told him that the 4th accused person was among the suspects.
He said he could not also remember on which day the incident happened, and denied that the accused were detained for two days without cautioning them.
He said the police did not tell him that the accused persons were arrested with a vehicle, and said he received some of the accused persons with a case file from the Mandinari police station.
Still under cross-examination by the 7th accused person, the witness said he could remember what happened on 4 September 2013, when he received a file of Mandinari village together with some suspects, together with gallons of gas oil, but could not remember how many suspects.
The alleged suspects came from Gampetroleum, he said, adding that he led the investigation team to Gampetroleum because, according to suspects, the incident happened at the Gampetroleum company.
The case continues.
