Gambia U-20 navigates to WAFU zone A tourney semi

Gambia U-20 national team have sailed to the semifinal of the 2019 WAFU zone A football tournament after beating Liberia 1-0 in the group B tie, played in Guinea Conakry on Wednesday .

The young Scorpions were held to a 1-1 by Mali in their opening group match, played on Monday. They required a victory against the Liberians to advance to the last four of the tournament.

Striker Momodou Bojang’s stoppage strike was enough to earn Gambia U-20 national team a place in the semifinal of the sub-regional football championship.
