The Gambia U-19 team will close its group games today Thursday against host Umbria in the eight-team Italy tournament.
The Scorpions played Slovenia yesterday 8 May after winning their opening game.
Gambia headed by Coach Bonu Johnson beat San Marino 2 nil in their Tuesday’s Group A opening game at Santa Maria degli Angeli with goals coming from Momodou Badjie and Lamin Jallow in the 15th and 35th minutes to ensure a clear finish for the Young Scorpions.
The Gambia’s participation to the Umbria tournament started last year as part of the technical cooperation between Italy and the Gambia Football Federation through the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
