The
purpose of the visit, which was part of bilateral cooperation between the two
sister institutions was to discuss ways and means of fostering more
collaboration for the betterment of the peoples they are serving.
SSHFC’s Director of Operations Gibriel Mendy said one of the issues discussed is for NASSIT and SSHFC to work together in the area of Federal Pension Schemes (FPS) whereby Sierra Leoneans in The Gambia will be covered by the pension scheme in The Gambia.
Mr Mendy said all the other points discussed during the visit of the NASSIT officials were all geared towards mutual cooperation and understanding between the institutions in Freetown and Banjul.
The team from Freetown included Ishmael Kanu, head of Actuarial Statistics at NASSIT, Joe Hassan Kalokoh, head of research division, and Ismail B. Kande, acting director of operations.
