Gambia Cricket U-17 Regional Competition

The U17 Regional Cricket Competition sponsored by the ICC/ACA Africa kicked off on 7 December and ended on 9 December 2012.

The tournament was played in colored clothing and 4 teams, namely Banjul Central, Banjul South, Brikama Jamisa and Brikama Berewuleng, participated in the 35 over tourney.

The aim of the competition is to identify young talented plays for a team to compete in the forthcoming ICC WORLD CRICKET League U-19 Tournament in April 2013.

Friday 7 December 2012 Banjul Central Vs Brikama Jamisa at The July 22nd Cricket Ground, Banjul

Banjul Central won the toss and elected to bat and scored 66 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 17.4 overs Basiru Jaye batted and score 11runs. Adrien O’Riley bowled 2 overs and took 3 wickets for 5 runs.

Brikama Jamisa batted in the second innings and scored 67 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 11.5 overs. Gabriel Njie scored 25runs, Abdou Karim Dampha bowled 3 overs and took 3 wickets for 14 runs.

Brikama Jamisa won by 4 wickets.

Brikama Berewuleng won the toss and elected to bat and scored 97 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 19 overs Lasso Manneh batted and score 20 runs Omar Jarju bowled 2 overs and took 2 wickets for 6 runs.

Banjul South batted in the second innings and scored 101 runs for 7 wickets in 14.4 overs. Pa Assan Faye batted and Score 38 runs, Malang Touray bowled and took 2 wickets in 1 over bowled for 1 runs.

Banjul South won by 4 wickets.

Saturday 8 December 2012 Banjul Central Vs Banjul South at The July 22nd Cricket Ground, Banjul

Banjul Central won the toss and elected to bat and scored 111 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 24.4 overs Andreh Jarju batted and scored 33, Mustapha Suwareh 24, Basiru Jaye took 4wickets for 11runs in overs bowled.

Banjul South batted in the second inning and scored 61 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 13.5 overs; Pa Assan Faye took 3wickets for 24 runs in 4.4 overs bowled and Pa Kebba Jeng batted and scored 11 runs.

Banjul Central won by 50 runs.

Brikama Jamisa Vs Brikama Berewuleng at Brikama Jamisa

Brikama Berewuleng won the toss and elected to bat and scored 271runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 30 overs Ismaila Tamba scored 82 and Muhammed Manga 41runs; Alhaji Sarjo took 4 wickets for 13 runs in 3 overs.

In the second innings Brikama Jamisa batted and scored 56 runs all out Abdou K. Drammeh bowled and took 2 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs bowled.

Brikama Berewuleng won by 215 runs.

Sunday 9 December 2012 Banjul South Vs Brikama Jamisa at July 22nd Cricket Ground

Brikama Jamisa won the toss and elected to field. Banjul South batted and scored 182 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 30 overs Ousman Touray 38, Pa Kebba Jeng 30 Runs. Modou Ceesay took 3 wickets for 11 runs in 4 overs bowled.

Brikama Jamisa batted in the second inning and scored 72 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 17.2 overs Elvis John batted and scored 32 runs, Gabriel Njie took 2wickets for 14 runs in 3 overs bowled.Banjul South won by 6 wickets

Brikama Berewuleng Vs Banjul Central at Brikama Jamisa

Brikama Berewuleng won the toss and elected to bat and scored 60 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 12.4 overs Ebrima Manjang scored 16 runs, and Omar Jurju took 3 wickets for 17runs in 4 overs.

Banjul Central batted in the second inning and scored 61 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 16 overs. Baboucarr Jaye scored 10 runs, Bangaly Jawara took 4 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs.

Banjul Central won by 4 wickets

Two Teams, Banjul Central and Banjul South, both had Six (6) points each. Banjul Central had a head on defeat over Banjul South.

Both teams were given a trophies and certificates, and all other participating teams were also given certificates.
