The
Gambia CHAN team on Friday slipped to Senegal U-20 team 2-1 in an international
friendly match played at the Leopard Sadarr Senghor Stadium in Dakar.
Senegal
U-20 team took the lead in the first half before extending their lead, after
the interval to dash Gambia CHAN team’s hopes of coming back to their feet.
The
Gambia CHAN team responded back quickly for an equalizer and managed to pull
back one through Solomon Kanforn from the penalty spot, which eventually proved
to be a consolation goal for the home-based Scorpions.
The
international friendly match was part of the Gambia CHAN team’s preparations
for their crucial 2018 CHAN qualifiers at home to Mali in July 2017.
The
match was also part of Senegal U-20 team’s preparations for the 2017 CAF U-20
Youth championship to be hosted in Zambia next month.
