Gambia arrive in Johannesburg

The Gambia national team has arrived in Johannesburg in the early hours of Wednesday from the Ugandan capital Kampala for their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa on Saturday 13 June 2015 in Durban.

The Scorpions were held to a 1-1 draw by Uganda in an international friendly tie played at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala on Tuesday, before leaving for Johannesburg.

Robert Sentongo gave Uganda the lead in the 61st minute of the game before debutant Omar Jagne fired home the equalizer for The Gambia in the 78th minute of the game to cancel Roberto Sentongo’s 61st minute opener to share the loot.

The team will later depart for Durban, where they will clash with Bafana Bafana in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Saturday 13 June 2015, at the magnificent Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 13 June 2015.

Swiss coach Raoul Savoy has a full squad after Omar Colley, Demba Savage, Abdou Jammeh and Abdoulie Mansally joined the team in the early hours of Tuesday.
