The Gambia came from one nil down to share points with Uganda, after 1-1 draw in an international friendly tie played at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala yesterday.
The international friendly match was part of the Gambia and Uganda’s preparations for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers billed for this weekend against South Africa and Botswana respectively.
Uganda opened the tally through Robert Sentongo in the 61st minute of the game from a header from Umony effort to give the host the lead after deadlock in the first half.
The Gambia responded back quickly and leveled the scores through Omar Jagne in the 78th minute of the game to cancel Robert Sentongo’s 61st minute opener to share the spoils.
The Gambia will play against Uganda in the second international match to brace themselves up before leaving for their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers away to South Africa on Saturday 13 June 2015 in Durban.
