Dodou Capi Joof, secretary general of the Gambia Athletics Association (GAA), has said he was really impressed with the performance of the country’s athletes during the national athletics championship.
Mr Joof made these remarks in an exclusive interview with reporters at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at the weekend.
The athletes put up respectable performance during the course of the three-day competition, he said, adding that the championship would go a long way in scouting, nurturing and developing potentials of young athletes.
“The performance of the athletes in this year’s championship was very good,” Mr Joof reiterated, saying the championship was well-contested, “which goes to show that The Gambia has lots of good athletes” that are capable of representing the country in future competitions.
