The Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Magistrate Tabally, Wednesday heard a case of obtaining money by false pretence and conspiracy to commit a felony brought against one Kansu Jawo.

He denied the charges and was granted court bail of D100,000 with a Gambian surety who must deposit an ID card.

According to the particulars of offence on count one, the accused, Kansu Jawo, in December 2012, at Bakau and diverse places in the Kanifing Municipality, obtained from one Sarjo Sawo, D10, 600 under the pretext that he was going to double the said sum to millions of dalasi to make him rich, a representation he knew to be false or unfounded.
