Friends of the Gambia Association (FOTGA), the oldest UK-based charity supporting education projects in The Gambia, will stage its annual impact assessment and stocktaking gathering called the PTA meeting this Sunday afternoon 26 January at its Kotu office.

According to Fatoumatta Barrow of the FOTGA Banjul office, the occasion brings together sponsors, beneficiaries, government and NGO officials to a meeting of exchanging of information, ideas and experiences of all connected with the FOTGA projects in The Gambia.

“It also provides a chance for some sponsored students and project managers to meet the actual funders of their schooling or projects, who would in turn hear them tell their stories,” Miss Barrow said.

She also said deserving and outstanding sponsored students among others will receive prizes.

The meeting will be witnessed by Rob Isdale, chairman of FOTGA, who flew in with some of the sponsors to grace the occasion.

FOTGA was established twenty-five years ago and has funded numerous schools and other community facilities across the country, paying tuition fees for children from kindergarten to university in addition to providing feeding and clothing for others.

It also supports sports activities and is a key partner of the famous Brufut marathon.
