Football Coaching and Sports Administration course ends

A-three-day football coaching and Sports Administration course organised by Brufut Youth and Sports Association came to an end at the Brufut Nursery School yesterday.

Speaking at the opening occasion, Pa Gaye, President of the Brufut Youth and Sports Association began his speech by thanking the course participants for turning out in large numbers to make the course a success.

 Mr Gaye went on to add that the aim of the course is to develop the capacity of the coaches to promote football in Brufut and the Gambia at large.

He also disclosed to reporters that his Association is always ready to fund any meaningful development in sports when the need arise while encouraged the course participants to take the training seriously.

Mr Mamudou Max Jallow, Executive Secretary of the National Sports Council said he was delighted to be part of the course.

The course he added is meant to capacities the coaches in Brufut as he urged the participants to make the best use of the knowledge gain during the course.

He also used the opportunity to urge the beneficiaries to share the knowledge gain with their colleagues in the interest of sports development throughout the country.

Muhammed Jawla, Sports co-ordinator at West Coast Region said as youth in sports, capacity building is paramount in the development of the game every Gambian is enthusiastic about”, adding that, “it is important to take this course seriously and also to apply the knowledge gain here correctly hence you are representing a larger crowd.”

He also highlighted the important role the fans play in the game while urging the youth of the community to work with the elders for the smooth running of sports giving the fact that the back-born of any developmental aspiration are the youths with the support of elders.

Mr Malamin Jombo Bojang, Village Development Committee Chairman said football is a big sports in the world and organising such a big course to capacitise coaches is very important.

He concluded by urging the youths of the village to come together with the elders and work for the development of the society as they are the future leaders of the country.

Ebrima Bojang, head coah of Brufut United began by thanking the Brufut Youth and Sports Association for organising such a course, which he said, is over due.

“Lets seek the knowledg of the expertise present here”, he said to his fellow coaches. Bojang urged them to register with the Gambia Football Coaches Association.
