Aug 3, 2015, 11:09 AM

The Gambia Football Federation, in collaboration with FIFA, will from today 3 August 2015 commence a 5-day training course for elite referees at the Paradise Suites Hotel in Kololi.

Thirty-two referees will benefit from the training course including all GFF FIFA men and women referees, a media release issued by Bakary B. Baldeh has said.

The training, the release added, is meant to further enhance their understanding in refereeing as well as to create a platform of uniformity of interpretation and application of the laws.

The programme is jointly coordinated by the GFF and FIFA. Resource persons include Mr Felix Tangawarima as course director and Mr Mark Mzengo as physical instructor.

The whole process or course will be supervised by Mr Carlos Henriques, who is a referees development officer at FIFA for English-speaking Africa.

The Gambia Football Federation’s president Lamin Kabba Bajo will deliver the keynote address on the occasion.

Senior government and GFF officials are expected to grace the opening ceremony of the programme, as GFF “wishes all participants a successful training course during the period.”
