Speaking shortly before the presentation, John PM Gomez, principal of the school, said the initiative has marked the beginning of a fruitful relationship between the two parties, which has been established in the interest of national development through football.

For his part, the man at the helm of affairs, Yahya Manneh, said extending its tentacles to Kombo Kerewan Upper Basic School has always been a priority for Football Gambia. "Rendering a helping hand to the Kerewan outfit is indeed a dream come through for FG giving the fact that promoting education through football is essential in national development," he said.

Bakary Saidy, Physical Education teacher of the school, who gave the vote of thanks on behalf of his colleagues, heaped praises on the initiator of the presentation, Yahya Manneh, together with his colleagues, saying: "We are really appreciative of the kind gesture and I want to assure the donors that the donated items will be used for its intended purpose."

Saidy used the occasion to challenge Football Gambia to consider providing goalposts and nets for the rejuvenated football field of Kombo Kerewan to enable them to have a beautiful taste of a standard football pitch for pupils of the school.

This latest presentation of valuable football materials by Football Gambia to various beneficiaries across the length and breadth of the country follows a series of high-profile presentation including the one presented to Faraba Bantang Youth and Sports Development Association in the West Coast Region to the tune of D26,150,00.
