The trial of Mr. Femi Peters, the Campaign Manager of the opposition Untied Democratic Party (UDP), is expected to start tomorrow at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court.
According to the UDP leader cum counsel for Mr Peters, Ousainou Darboe, the case had been scheduled for tomorrow morning by 10am.
The case which was taken to the Banjul Magistrates' Court has now been transferred to Kanifing Magistrates' Court, by Magistrate Nkea following the defense's argument that the court lacks the jurisdiction to hear the matter, since the alleged offence was said to have occurred in Serrekunda, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court.
Mr. Peters is charged with two counts of "control of procession and control of loudspeaker."
He denied both charges.
