Accused In The Witness Box

One Malick Conateh, who is charged with theft, recently testified at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court as his trial has reached its climax.

Malick Conateh, who said he is a carpenter by profession told the court that, on 23rd June 2009, while sitting in his aunt's house some police officers came there and asked for him.

According to him, the police told him that he was wanted and that they should go with him to the Kanifing Police Station.

He said at the police station, he was told that he broke into a house belonging to one Dr. Sasa and stole therein, which according to him, he denied the allegation.

He added that at the police station he admitted to be in the compound of the complainant with some other boys the previous night, but later separated with them at the Youth Monument.

The case continues.
