The drug case involving one Alieu Bojang, a resident of Farato Village, in the West Coast Region, on Thursday proceeded at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court.

The accused, Alieu Bojang, was alleged to have been in possession of 39grams of suspected cannabis.

Testifying, the fourth prosecution witness (PW4) Abdoulie M.K. Jallow, a narcotics officer, posted at Tallinding Police Station, told the court that on 21 June 2011, he was instructed to escort the accused to weigh two packs of suspected cannabis.

The witness explained that the weighing was done in the presence of the accused and samples were extracted from each pack and the scientific test confirmed that the suspected substance was cannabis sativa.

Both the scientific report and the weighment certificate were admitted and marked as exhibits, upon the prosecution’s application to tender the same.

The case continues on 14 January 2012.
