Balla Sowe, a driver, was on 5 October 2015 paraded
before Magistrate Janneh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court accused of “rash
and negligent act, causing death.”
Prosecutors alleged that the defendant, Balla Sowe, on 2 October 2015 between the hours of 12:40 and 13:00 along Gampost road at Kanifing, he drove a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 1054G Toyota commercial van in a negligent manner, and thereby causing the death of one Lamin Manneh ofBakau.
He denied any wrongdoing.
He was granted bail of D50,000 with two Gambian sureties, who should swear to an affidavit of means and to deposit their ID cards with the registrar of the court.
The case was adjourned till 22 October 2015, for hearing.
