Sillah, former national team coach, has said striker Mustapha Drammeh deserved
a starting berth in The Gambia’s 2018 CHAN qualifiers first-leg tie at home to
Mali at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Former
national team coach Sillah was speaking to reporters shortly after the
home-based Scorpions goalless draw with Mali in the first-leg clash played on
Saturday.
Sillah
revealed that striker Mustapha Drammeh deserved to be given the starting berth,
adding that he made a difference after his instruction in the second half.
Sillah
further revealed that the performance of the team below expectations was
changed by the introduction of striker Mustapha Drammeh, who boosted The
Gambia’s attacking options.
Sillah
stated that striker Mustapha Drammeh should have been given the starting berth,
adding that he made a difference when he was injected in the second half.
Drammeh
was the leading goal scorer for the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation
domestic division one league season after netting 15 goals in twenty-two league
matches but came on as a second half substitute in The Gambia’s 2018 CHAN
qualifiers first-leg tie at home to Mali on Saturday.
