Dr Elijah Dennis Ejila enthroned as new Bishop for King’s Jesus Ministries

Hundreds of people last Saturday gathered at the Gambia Pastoral Institute (GPI) on Kairaba Avenue to witness the official enthronement of the new King’s Jesus Ministries International Bishop.

Senior government officials attended the ceremony. The Charismatic Pentecostal Church families of King’s Jesus Ministries The Gambia, in collaboration with Yeshua Embassy Network of Churches, Philadelphia, United States of America, performed the consecration rites for Bishop-elect Rev Dr Elijah Dennis Ejila.

Delivering his consecration message before the audience, His Eminence Arch-Bishop Innocent Ngozi Richard, African Chapter Primate Yeshua who presided over the enthronement, welcomed the dignitaries and congratulated the new Pentecostal Bishop on his enthronement as the first Pentecostal Bishop in the country.

According to him, the day is very important in the history of the King’s Jesus Ministries Church and other Pentecostal churches across the country.

All those who attended the ceremony prayed for The Gambia and the entire world for peace and success.

He said this type of leadership of the bishop-elect is very rare not only in Africa but throughout the universe. 

Speaking shortly after his enthronement, Bishop Rev Dr Elijah Dennis Ejila thanked The Gambian leader and his government for providing the conducive atmosphere in the country for all to function well and peacefully, the Nigerian Higher Commissioner, and all those who attended the occasion.

Bishop Rev. Dr Elijah Dennis Ejila was born on 28 February 1960 in River State, Nigeria. The Bishop studied journalism and also has a diploma and BA in Theology.

He started his ministerial career in Nigeria back in 1991 and in 1996 he established the King’s Church International and built the King’s Kid Academy International School in Temasu, Lamin village, Kombo North, West Coast Region.

He was also conferred with a Doctorate degree in International Seminary in Accra, Ghana, after completing a thesis on church growth in The Gambia.

He has served in different evangelical ministries and presently holds various positions among them President of Christian Leadership, and in training institutions. 

Certificates were also presented to some of the guests.
