President
Yahya Jammeh has appointed Dodou Bammy Jagne as secretary general and head of
the civil service with immediate effect, a statement from the Office of the
President has announced.
Mr
Jagne’s appointment, according to the statement aired over the state
broadcaster, GRTS, followed the president’s decision to relieve Sulayman Samba
of his appointment as Secretary General and head of the civil service with
effect from 30 June 2016.
Mr
Jagne is a career diplomat who has worked in government for many years.
