Development
Network Platform Gambia (DNPG), a registered charitable organisation and a
non-profit organisation working across The Gambia to provide a voice for the
voiceless in partnership with Muslim Help, a German Organisation have recently
completed and handed over a borehole to Jarra Barrow Kunda Arabic School in
Lower River Region.
The
water project for the school with 128 students includes taps and showers which
cost the two organisations four hundred thousand dalasis.
The
25 meter solar clean water project can pump three hundred thousand liters of
water in 25 minutes, according to DNPG founder Mr Ralf.
He
pointed out that they plan to finalize and construct a new school with toilets
for the Arabic school early next year to ensure students stay in school but
also to attract others to join the school.
He
observed that the entire community of Barrow Kunda is pleased with the gesture
by the two organisations. Earlier this year in July the two organisations
donated bulls and rams to The Gambia Prison Services to use as Tobaski meat.
He
highlighted that the DNPG operates on a 100% donation policy with all its work
carried out by experienced and dedicated volunteers.
DNPG
projects include setting up of educational institutions, electricity (solar)
and water supply as well as helping entrepreneurs set up their businesses among
others.
