Disobedience to lawful order case resumes

The trial of the case of disobedience to lawful order involving six accused persons Monday resumed at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

The accused persons are Assan Sarjo, Modou Lamin Badjie, Amadou Sarjo, Arness Manjami, Mustapha Jatta and Ebrima Colley.

When the case was announced, the prosecuting officer, CPL 2294 Jammeh, informed the court that on the last adjourned date, he was not in court, but he came to know that the court issued an arrest warrant for the arrest of the 2nd accused, Modou Lamin Badjie.

He added that he was informed that Modou Lamin Badjie was not in the village.

He further told the court that he wanted the court to issue an arrest warrant for the arrest of the 6th accused who was also not in court, without any reason for his absence.

After the prosecution’s application, one Mafuji Jarju informed the court that the 2nd accused, Modou Lamin Badjie, was sick that was why he was not in court.

The trial magistrate ruled that Modou Lamin Badjie should produce his medical certificate on the next adjourned date.

Meanwhile, the prosecution’s application for a bench warrant to be issued for the arrest of the 6th accused, Ebrima Colley, was granted by the court.

The case was then adjourned till 24 October 2011.
