Manga and Abdou Kujabi were recently granted bail of D1million with two Gambian
sureties with a landed property within the jurisdiction of the court by the
Brikama Magistrates’ Court.
The accused persons were arraigned on charges of being idle, disorderly, rogue and vagabond, charges they had denied.
According to the particulars of offence on count one, the two accused persons on 13 December 2010, between 1700 and1800 hours at the border checkpoint in Dinbaya Village, in the West Coast Region, forcefully demanded D300, being payment levied on the transportation of timber from Casamance, a conduct which is likely to cause the breach of peace.
The particulars of offence on count two stated that the two accused persons on the same date and year mounted road block, thereby obstructing the movement of vehicles.
The case was adjourned till 9 May 2012, for hearing.
